Bought a DELL 1330 XPS it had Vista which failed to work with most of my games and was not all that great... But i did test NFS carbon successfully and it worked fine!!!

Next i did a full HDD firmat useing DOS hdd utility after which i made 2 partitions and installed XP on "C" drive and installed all the drivers "Which were quite hard to find".

Somehow every thing came together and worked great till yesterday while paying COD3 the laptop went hay wire and artifacts came up almost at an instant without any warning "My laptop was quite a bit hot played on it for 2+ hrs" since it was not responding i had to doa hard restart and after then all my games are showing artifacts.

I tried reinstalling XP and drivers and also tried installing Vista but had huge problems with Aero interface... Now i am sitting with XP unable to play games and only see movies, etc.

What might the prob. be?? Heck i chose this instead of a Asus N10 how stupid was i should have waited for that!!

Umm.....Call of Duty 3 was console only. I remember one of my friends had the same issue but on integrated graphics, had to get the motherboard for the laptop replaced under warranty.

Unless OP has some incredibly powerful magic COD3 was and will always be console only.

Perhaps he meant COD4?

Dang, my super magical power has been discovered...

In reality the OP was quite sleepy and wrote a 3 instead of a 2...
So COD2 was the games name i am not sure i want to play COP4 on a 8400GS

Dell doesn't cover labor charges under warranty?

Not to mentioin, isn't NVidia forking out some millions of dollars to these companies, specifically to cover the labor involved in the repair or replacement of laptops with their defective chips?
