new dell ultrasharps do not rotate into portrait!?!?!?

i really need to get hold of a Dell 17" monitor that rotates 90 degrees into portrait mode but dell have just dropped the Ultrasharp 1704FP's from their site.

the new replacement models make no reference to being able rotate unless i'm very wrong...............?

can anyone confirm this disaster please?

i may be picking up a 1707 this weekend, i can tell you then
but thinking about it, i am not sure there would really be that much of a different when in portrait or straight, the 17 in and 19 in screens are almost square.

a 17" in portrait mode is exactly the same height as my 2405, and are perfect for viewing documents and chat screens. i intend to have two of them flanking the centre widescreen.

let me know if they do rotate please.

the only documentation available was the pdf doc which didn't specify rotate unlike the old 17" ultrasharp where rotate was specifically mentioned.

A little late with a reply, but CNET Review has a video that shows 1707FP rotating into portrait mode. I chose this 17" for my son's computer.

do you know what type of panel this one uses? if its 6 bit or 8 bit? im looking to get this or the 1907 but im concerned about the colors displayed. is it even that big of a deal to begin with? i ahve a 172fp and its supposedly 8bit and i like it. i dont want to go down to 6 bit
