I'd take it to replace a netbook - with no built in storage, this could be epic as it would lower the cost, technically. If I could tether it with my iphone, that'd be fuckin awesome.

Why would you tether a cell phone to a cell phone?

So you don't have to pay for two data plans.

Woa, it's not just a tablet, it' a phone. If it's not complete crap, or locked into ATT, that's my next phone.

As I recall, Dell loves to lock their stuff in with AT&T. Lemme go check their laptops and customize one with a 3G module to make sure.
Edit: I was wrong, they let you install either an AT&T, or Sprint, or Verizon module. Figures. For something like that I'd prefer T-mobile.

Anyway, its unlikely one phone would have both GSM and CDMA radios in it, so its going to be either AT&T only, or Sprint/Verizon.

MID != Cell Phone or a required data plan. It will probably have the option of using a SIM like their netbooks, but won't require it. The MID was supposed to be developed in conjunction with an Android handset.
