Hey guys, could use a bit of a reality check on processor upgrades...
I'm purchasing a new Dell 1330, and I'm probably going to do 3gigs memory since that's the most it will take with 32bit windows. I digress.. the memory bandwidth is I believe MB limited to 667. How much use or difference would it make to purchase the T9300 processor with a bigger (6m) cache versus the 5750. That proc moves at 800mhz as I understand, so how much of that bandwidth would be wasted?
To be fair, I do do a fair amount of video encoding and I'd really like to be able to play some simple games like starcraft, warcraftIII (and maybe even the sequel to SC if possible). I know the latter stuff has a lot to do with the 128mb geforce8400 I'm stuck with, but knowing what I want it for, would you shell out the extra $250?
