New Dell I5 problems

My brother purchased a Dell I5 system a few days ago. It has Windows 7 home, 4gig, and an Nvidia G310 video card.

The system set up fine. He was able to set up and transfer his email and can surf without problems.

The issue now is with games. For example, Zuma's Revenge. When he tries to execute it, the screen goes blank and the system seems to lock. But, if he goes away for about a half hour and comes back, the game is up and running. Other games refuse to play and I believe he got a message with one that he needs a more updated version of flash, although he has the latest and greatest.

I am thinking that the the Zuma problem is the machine switching to a resolution that is unviewable on the monitor. Also, the G310 card has an older driver installed but the more current drivers don't support it.

He has contacted Dell who did a remote log in and was not able to help.

Is there anything else to try or should he just pack it up and return it?

Yes. Evertything is up to date except the video driver which is not as current as the current Nvidia driver as the current drivers dont seem to support it.

This is part of the problem. The current NVidia drivers don't support the G310. When you try to install them, it tells you the card is unsupported. I figure as well thats probably whats the biggest problem.

Like I said, he has uninstalled and reinstalled the latest flash and the other game (I don't remember which) tells him he doesn't have the latest flash.

The machine has problems. If it can't be sorted out quickly, back it goes!
