New Dell 2007WFP LCD Monitor for $360 shipped

I've been searching for a good current deal on the Dell 2007wfp monitor and have identified the following options:

refurb from Dell $299 + $24.76 tax = $323.67
new from www.compuplus $345 + $14.95 S&H = $359.95
new from Dell $359 + $29.62 tax + $8.00 env. fee = $396.72

I believe the refurbs come with a 3 month warranty compared to a 3 year warranty for new products. Also, Dell states that they allow returns of products up to 21 days from date of invoice but charges a 15% restocking fee if the item is not defective. By comparison, compuplus states that this (new) monitor comes with the "full USA manufacturers warranty" (3 years) and can be returned or exchanged for up to 30 days if dissatisfied without a restocking fee. The return policy is important to me since I would like to return the monitor if I receive a PVA panel instead of an IPS panel.

Is Compuplus a reputable retailer? If so, they offer the best purchase option of which I am aware! Do you know of anything better?

P.S. I think Dell's environmental fee may only apply to California residents. Of course, tax will vary by state and CompuPlus will charge tax to NY residents.

The new 22" panel won't be as 'up to par' as the 2007, but it'll be cheaper and a little bigger in terms of screen size (but not pixels). (I kinda go for quality over quantity, though.)

Oh, and I've never dealt with Compuplus, to get back to topic.

I might buy it from whoever ships faster, I really need a monitor 🙁 - That's a lot for a 20" though. For that much I'd expect 22"

Dell monitors are so confusing though, like other than the original, they have version 2 and 3 of every single model or something. I dunno

I can't say it's $100 better than the new 22" dell though. But I'd have to see them in person I guess.

Check again...Dell has been using a lesser PVA panels in the 2007fpw a lot recently...maybe even exclusively. THere is much discussion about this in the LCD thread in the Video forum. For a while, it was a lottery, some getting PVA panels, some still getting s-IPS, but I think it's pretty heavy toward the PVA panels now. I decided not to buy the Dell monitor...they are now using a low to mid end panel in what was once a great monitor. If it's important, you might look at other options.

See this thread

Before, it's been an S-PVA and an S-IPS lottery, of which both should be better than a TN. Then again, if you go through Dell, can't you return in for simply not liking it?

Well, I placed an order with compuplus last Sunday and they shipped out the monitor the next day. I missed out on their $345 price, however; they must have raised the price by $15 just before I ordered. Still a good deal IMO...especially since my monitor arrived with a beautiful IPS panel with no bad pixels that I can see. The superior color uniformity and dark details of the IPS panel is worth the extra money to me. I'm relieved that I will not have to test their 30-day return policy!

umm, the Dell refurb monitor also has a 3 year warranty.

I got my refurb for ~240 a couple of months back. I had issues, and they shipped a replacement, which has been working flawlessly since.
