I am...that had to do with me saying it wasn't pop. I would know if it's pop or not. Why don't you guys go cry about it, I know why I posted, and you can think what you want, it doesn't make a difference to me.

<< intelligent conversation about pop >>

What's to discuss intelligently? Pop songs are the antithesis of "intelligent".

Give it up Deeko. You seem to derive some sick pleasure from getting into stupid arguments with people.

Apparently it does:

<< Explain it to me, I really want to know. >>
<< Now, how was I doing this to let everyone know I like pop? >>

They started with me. I was just defending Urbantechie.

konichiwa, I wanted to hear your reasons, when I saw you didn't have any, I stopped caring.

God damnit, pick up your feces and move on. I'm not going to argue about pop with you. Of all things, of all people...

Be careful if you try to d/l What you are. I tried and most of them are some terrible song that sounds like Barry Manilow. Dont do it if it says What you are - 02 You'll be sorry. I'm getting one that says 07 that at least sounds like DMB.

I can guarantee you that what I have is most definitely DMB. The key to finding the real songs is to search for bitrates larger than 192kbps. Try that.

I know this is an old thread, but I've been listening to some of these songs and wanted to mention The Space Between is a very good song. Overall they dont seem as musical as what I'm used to with DMB.

I've been listening to the album for a few days too, and I think it's pretty good. Not as good as older Dave, but pretty good. I'm excited to see how this new material is live...the old stuff was great, because live, Dave would just jam out. I get my chance in a couple of months when DMB plays at Jazzfest...backstage passes for me, baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've seen Dave in concert twice. Awesome concerts. I had so much fun. I'm definitely gonna see him when he comes back around to LA at Dodger Stadium. I'm excited about the new CD.

I am a little dissapointed that Long Black Veil, Grace is Gone, Bartender and Grey Street aren't on it. I would have loved to hear how they do those in the studio. I love the live versions, but I think what makes the live versions special is knowing how they sound when they are "perfect" in the studio. Then the band improvises and changes things up from this base model when they are in concert. Maybe too analytical for music, but hey what can I do. :)

late.

I've been listening to the new album for a few days now, and really like it. It's taken me a bit to get used to, but the more I listen, the more I love it - similar to the relationship I had with BTCS. I can't wait until it comes out officially; I'll be there to buy it, that's for sure. :p

I've listened to about half the songs (the first half, don't want to spoil it) and it has a very much "pop" feel to it. It sounds horrible at first, but it grows. Some would argue that Before These Crowded Streets was overproduced, but it's the same here.

If there is one thing that I hate though, is a bunch of Abercrombies showing up at the concerts with no idea of whose on stage other than the "guy who sings Crash" and is with their girlfriend who actually likes him. How I long for the days of Dancing Nancies, Tripping Billies, and Proudest Monkey...songs that only YOU could get, and everyone else said "What the fsck?"

Unfortunately, I think the songs from this album (The Space Between, Angel) are going to be played heavily on MTV's TRL (believe me, Ballard will push it) and then only a second wave of Crash-heads will come in.
