From NeoGAF:

For now it appears if you own a CORE console with less then 128MB of storage you are eligible for either a FREE 512MB Memory Card or a refurbished 20GB HDD for $19.99.

If you are an ARCADE owner with less then 128MB of storage it appears you may be eligible for a refurbished 20GB HDD + 3 months of Xbox Live for $29.99.

I'm assuming these figures were obtained from people who have Core or Arcade systems and entered in their serial numbers.

I just hope it's indicative of cheaper hard drive upgrades around the bend. I currently have the 20 GB hard drive that came with my Pro system. I don't really use much of the storage space, but if they allow you to install games to reduce load times and eliminate disc swapping, it would be very nice to have a 120 GB. But spending $180 for it is completely insane.

its not 180 anymore. its 150. You can find it on amazon for cheaper. flucuates from 120 to 140. Frys if you have one around you is selling it for 129.99 through tomorrow.

If anybody has a core/arcade unit and doesn't want to take advantage of this offer, I'd be glad to use your serial number to snag an extra cheap hard drive for myself 🙂.

Whole point of the new dash is to have a hard drive anyway...

Wait, what? 😕

You can install games to the hard drive with the New Dash

Ya, but that's not the "whole point". Actually, that's just a side bullet point that they didn't even feel the need to mention during the new dash's announcement.
