A camouflaged WRX hatch has been seen out in the wild. Maybe it will be a 2016 model.
 
Nice ride, OP! Do you plan to add a roof rack? It seems the WRX/Impreza only supports the clamp ones, which is highly unfortunate in my estimation.

No plans to add a roof rack, but a dude on NASOIC went ahead and drilled one in.

The official word on the hatch WRX is that they didn't want to spend resources developing two different bodies when they could spend all resources making one really good one.

Not sure how much truth there is to that.
 
My guess is they don't have the manufacturing capacity to handle both models currently. Their factories in Japan are running full capacity.
