I figure with 100,000+ members that there must be at least 2 or 3 other people around here that like or at least have heard of this band.... y'think?
Anyway, here is a track from their forthcoming album.

Have a listen and post your thoughts/comments.

EDIT:
Fixed link

I definitely agree, though I would say that 'From the Cradle to Enslave' was their first step down (when drummer Nick Barker laft for Dimmu Borgir): Cruelty and the Beast is their high point, particularly with production and keys, IMO. Bitter Suites to Succubi was an improvement over Midian, and I think this new album seems even more promising.

Is the link fixed for everyone okay? They changed the friggin' url in the last 2 days...

I haven't heard any of Dimmu Borgir since... Spiritual Black Dimensions, which was a step below Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, I think..
That sucks, because Nick Barker is about the best drummer I've ever heard. Not so much in terms of speed, though he is fast, but he puts so much more style into it than anyone else. I was really dissapointed to hear of him leaving CoF.

I haven't been keeping up on my black metal lately. My favorite band is Deicide (Glen Benson 0wn3s me, thats his name right?).. I'll have to pick up the new CoF, is it mostly music this time around or are there a lot of dramatic tracks? I got sick of those pretty quickly on the old albums.

I like this stuff too, just to let ya know. Don't really have anything else to say, except that Bal-Sagoth owns all.

I don't really know too much about the new album, as it's not released yet.
Elsewhere on their site they have low quality clips of most of the new songs. I expect it to be a progression, of course, over their most recent effort, Bitter Suites to Succubi. I know they were able to afford an 18 piece orchestra for the record, but don't know the extent of the usage, etc.

Lovecraft and Witch Hearts had a few cool songs on it (2cd set that came out after bitter suites...) i dont think there was anything new though, just redone versions of old songs.

Bal-sagoth is some kick ass power metal. I've been listening to alot of nightwish and paradise lost lately, for something a little different...still miss oldschool black metal though, dont hear much of it now days.
