if i had a new cpu, should I remove the motherboard from the case for the installation?
(assuming I have and old one already intalled)

if you can get at it without much trouble i'd just keep the mobo in the case. but i've never been able to get at it with much trouble because i've always had a bolt on heatsink.

Don't really need to take out the motherboard, I just leave it it. But what is there thats such a big upgrade over your P4 @4ghz??

pentium d won't fit in a willamette socket, iirc
