Me and a buddy have recently set up a counter strike source server with artofwarcentral.com and are looking for some good (cheat free) players.

Its a 24 person server and we play mostly official maps and dont have any of the annoying BS clutter plugins. The only mod we run is the mani-admin plugin which is pretty much transparent to the player.

The server is located in Chicago and from WV on Time Warner cable we get ~50ms pings constantly. Come check us out, we just started so there arent tons of players yet, but we are recruiting and looking for regulars.

Yeah, thats the reason for the advertising. The server runs great, most people get <60ms pings. We take pride in running as serious a game server that we can. None of the "hosted on moms dsl connection with the family pc" stuff here.

We just want to make a nice place for players to come and have a good time. And btw, the server gets lots of people from time to time, mostly on fridays and saturdays. We want to change that into a place where there are 20+ people on all the time.

If you dont mind, just add it to your favorites list and join when there are some people online. Or, play by yourself for a bit and attract some people

I'll look at it, i assume the 205.234.159.82:27015 is the address

EDIT: Goresplash is the name

Oh and I keep getting crashes in CS:S. Is there a fix for that?? I can run aquamark test without crashing so I dont think it's overheating. Burn in for memory and cpu passes dozens of consecutive attempts as does the boot time memory test program i have. I'm close to out of ideas...

It will very likely be that with a full server as well. We have no variance in ping here in WV even when its full.

I just tried it out. I was staying in the 55 to 60 range. Which isn't bad considering I live in VT. Not quite like 23ms ping times I get on New England + NYC servers but if a good group of people are there it could be fun.

I'll check it out when my internet provider gives me my net back :(
I'll be playing from Denmark, so I think the ping might be too high.

unless your ping is over 300 you can playhere without getting kicked
anything over that is just unplayable for anyone

I think I get around 200 on US serves, it take quite some time to getting used to instead of the regular ~40 :p

I cant either, but I know some people are on dialup. So I let them get up to 300ms before the server kicks them. I hate to leave anyone out, but at 300 the game is simply unplayable in any fun manner.

This is on a residential cable connection?
TW TOS doesn't prohibit servers?
What's your bandwidth upload/outbound?
What's the recommended bandwidth for a CS server per connected client?
Does it start to bog when the server fills up near 24 players?

Just asking in case I wanna host my own server.
:)

I got around 130 in ping with 5 other people on the server. I´m from Sweden though, so that´s pretty good for a US server.
