I have just bought the following rig
Thermaltake Tsunami case modified with silenx 14db fans
3r 450 watt (12cm. fan) psu
2x512 crucial ballistix pc4000
a64 winchester 3200+
silenx ixtrema 92mm cpu cooler (equiv to zalman 7000)
asus a8n sli deluxe
wd raptor 74 gb
seagate sata 300gb
2 x speeze double vent hd cooler
Abit x700pro 256mb pci-e

Firs of all i would like to know your opinions on its overclockability and what is expectable from this rig.
Second, I used to know how to overclock my old athlon with pc133 and abit kt7a-raid, but as i can see, lots of new parameters are now relevant concerning the processor, memory timings and so on, so i will need some help on my firs steps towards a succesful overclocking

My best advice, if you want to overclock swap your power supply for a single rail PS with at least 25a on the 12v rail. This motherboard requires a minimum of 18a to run a single mid range graphics card at stock speeds, and if you are overclocking or using high end cards or SLI it requires at least 25a, 30a is better.

There are a couple of threads listing PS's that work well with this board, just search A8N and power supply. If you see any posts by Fast Fredie look in his sig, his seems to be working well, and it's like $50-60 US I think its an Athena or something like that. Of course you can't go wrong with major makers Antec, Enermax, Fortron, PC Cooling, Seasonic, OCZ, etc.. just check the specs and make sure it has 25a+ on the 12v.

how do i know wether it is single or double rail?. most of the ads do not specify this. Is there any other way of knowing it or any other relevant data to be taken into account?

single rails will have a readout of +12v.

most power supplies will read out two rails like this: +12v1 and +12v2.

i,ve been doing some research about non-expensive psus over here and there are three candidates i would like you evaluate
levicom x-alien 500 w - 34A on 12v 78.95?
revoltec chromus 450 w 25A (4 sata connectors) 66?
be-quiet 470w. 25-28A on 12v 99 ?
they are more or less affordable and apparently would be one-railed, but i'm not really sure about them, once again, could you help?
