New condor egg!

The female from last year's condor thread laid an egg in the same nest. Her partner from last year was killed in the Dolan Fire (arson). Last year's chick survived the fire and fledged but was captured shortly after fledging due to injuries sustained during fledging and possible fire-related injuries. That chick now lives in the Los Angeles Zoo and is expected to be released back into the wild, possibly this year. The female's new partner is a condor that survived as a nestling in the Basin Fire in 2008.

You and I must have a similar sense of humor. I was going to ask the best way to prepare condor eggs but figured that might be a bit too far. I'll stick to the fetus pâté jokes, much safer.
