Trying to make a new P4 system:

MSI 845Ultra Motherboard
Pentium 4: 1.6 Ghz
2 256 MB DDR Ram
Leadtek Geforce 2 MX200
IBM 40.0 GB HD (7200 RPM)

After putting everything together and turning the computer on.
The Power and HD light are on, but nothing comes onto the screen.
Am I missing something or could the motherboard be the problem?
:frown:

did you seat the video card correctly? is the monitor cable connected properly to the video card? do you get the POST beep?

The video card is seated correctly, and the monitor cable is connected properly.
I didn't get any POST beep. Now, my HD light never comes on.

you may be grounding out, have you checked to make sure you installed all of the standoffs correctly, make sure they only touch the motherboard where there is a screw hole.

What is grounding out? If you're talking about the screws to the motherboard. I did put the spacer screw
underneath and screw in all the screws in places that the motherboard have. Could the motherboard
be defective as well?

After taking everything apart. I tightened the standoff and rescrewed the Motherboard. Put the Fan and Memory back in.
Connecting the Power Switch, LED, HD LED, etc back in. Turned it on...Still No POST. Gonna try exchanging the Motherboard
on Monday and test it all out again. Man, this is a pain.
