New computer won't boot

Hey guys! Long time lurker, first time poster. This is probably a vain hope, but it's the only one I've got.. I hope you guys can help!

I bought the parts for a new computer and built it back in May. Worked wonderfully. However, once when I turned it off, it just didn't turn back on. The LEDs turn on, the fans whir.. But the damn thing doesn't boot up! There's no beep, no nothing. I RMA'ed the old motherboard, hoping that was the issue. Now I've re-put together the computer with the replacement mobo I received today. Guess what? Same issue. Exactly the same. Doesn't boot. So... Any ideas? I'm really not happy, so any help would be greatly appreciated..

NVidia 680i SLI motherboard (A1 revision)
NVidia 8800 GTX
Intel e6700 processor (No overclocking or anything)
Xstream gamer 700 watt PSU
500 GB Spinpoint HD

That's the equipment in it.. And I'm totally at a loss. Any help guys?

Might be worth trying a different psu.

Also, try resetting BIOS.
Also,
Take out all unneccessary hardware - extra drives/grafix cards/pci cards etc - disconnect them from power and mobo.
See if you get any different result.

If you are using high performance RAM the default voltage might be 1.9-2.1v or 2.0-2.2v, while the motherboard defaults to 1.8v at first. You may need to put in RAM with a default voltage of 1.8v to get to the BIOS where you can change the voltage to the spec of you performance RAM, then shut down and switch the RAM.

Make sure you have the 4x4 power plugged in and if your motherboard had a spot to connect a molex connector near the CPU make sure that's plugged in too.

Thanks for the advice guys.. But I have no idea how to reset the BIOS when I can't even get to the BIOS screen. And yes, the RAM voltage is different. However, when I used the same RAM in the other motherboard before it got all screwey, it booted just fine. Then I could change the voltage settings in BIOS. However, as I said, now I can't even get that far. Besides.. It's not like I just keep RAM lying around. ;)

I'm not sure what you mean by 4x4 power and molex connector.. I don't have a 4x4 power plug in area on the mobo. However, as far as I know, everything seems to be connected properly. If you could be more specific, perhaps I could check it out better? I apologize, but I'm not too familiar with all of the specifics. I will try disconnecting the graphics card though. Should I disconnect the HD as well? Any other advice?

I have seen that before with the RAM where it boots only once and then not again because of the voltage, I don't know why it will boot only once some times. You can try to reset the CMOS, or remove the battery for a few minutes and then try again, if you can get to the BIOS, change the voltage.

Your PSU has two cords with connectors on the end for 4 pins, they can be clipped together sorta, they plug into either 1x4pin connector or 2x4 pin connectors on your motherboard.

Look around your motherboard for a spot to plug in a molex connector, it would be near the CPU, a molex connector is the generic one on the power supply that has 4 pins, usually used to plug in IDE hard drives or DVD drives etc.

To clear the BIOS, unplug the computer and take out the little button battery on the mobo.
Leave it out for a few minutes.

There may be a jumper you can bridge to do the same - would have to look in your manual for that.

The 4 pin plug is a square (2X2) that goes from the psu to the mobo close to the cpu.
That must be plugged in otherwise you ain't getting nowhere.
If That is plugged in, and there is a spare 4 pin from your psu, try that one.
