New Computer Woes

I am trying to make my first computer. I am having some problems though. To statrt off with I am using an Athlon XP 1700 in a Epox 8KHA+ board. I know that the processor works. When I put the ram and everything in, the light by the ram does not light up. I have tried testing ram individually (I have 2 sticks) and the ram is PC2100, which should work. Is my mobo to blame?

Read the motherboard manual.

Doesn't that light mean everything is OK? It did on my Epox 8K7A+ motherboard.
Are you having any actual problems, like no power, no video signal, etc?

When you say the processor works does it work on that mobo or you tested it somewhere else? If somewhere else, it could be a power issue that you have.

Or maybe your video card is not properly plugged into the AGP slot.

Here's what you should do: Plug out the video card from the AGP slot, remove dust (if any) and plug it back in (make sure it's inserted all the way in).
