new computer will not post

i built a new P4 system. the mobo is a p4t-e. i think the problem is that i don't have the c-rimms. i just have two sticks of 256 MB of PC-800. i forgot to order the c-rimms. i also scratched the very edge of my mobo on accident. i hope that is not the problem. thanks.

The CRIMMs are definitely the problem. RDRAM system require termination, just like SCSI does. Therefore, each memory slot unused MUST have a CRIMM installed. Scratching your mainboard may also lead to problems, as you may have damaged the traces, which can lead to problems in sending electrical signals and data.

make sure you don't have a standoff in the wrong spot grounding out your mobo
