i just built this computer for my grandmother:

biostar p4m80-m7
pent4 2.8ghz lga775
AOpen DVD/CD-RW
Her original hard drive (ide)
1gb kingston pc2700

when i turn it on all the fans come on and i hear the hd boot up, but i get absolutely nothing on the screen.

any help?

thank you very much

Didn't know that board had integrated.

What I'd do is unplug the machine, wait a min, then unplug everything inside and reseat the memory and plug everything back in. If that doesn't work, maybe test it with different RAM.

If it beeps, the hardware should be good.

What brand and model of power supply are you using, and did you get the four-pin ATX12V cable plugged in? The socket for that is at the upper-right corner in this photo.

Also, is the motherboard mounted on standoffs?

i dont have another cpu, mobo, or ram. i know the ram works because its a stick that i took from my(this) computer.

yes the atx plug is plugged, and its on standoffs. it has a Cooler Master 350W ATX12V psu

no beep.
1) check the Clear CMOS jumper, which Biostar probably labelled JCMOS, to ensure it's not in the Clear position. If it is in the Clear position, first unplug the computer from the wall and then move the jumper to the normal-operation position.

2) Ensure that your keyboard is plugged into the purple port, and the mouse is plugged into the green port (assuming you have round-plug PS/2 mouse and/or keyboard). The ports are function-specific.

3) if that didn't help, then take the motherboard out of the case and lay it on cardboard. Hook up only the absolute essentials for a POST: the CPU and heatsink, the video card, one memory module, and the power supply. No drives, no cards, no keyboard or mouse, no case wiring except the power button.

4) if that doesn't work then 😕. Maybe see if you can borrow a different quality-brand 350W+ PSU from somewhere as a fact-finding step.

Good luck! More no-run/no-POST things to check here: first link on this page.
