Hey Guys - Just built a new machine with a 256GB Crucial SSD and a 6TB WD HDD.
While transferring backed-up email files from my 32GB USB 3.0 thumb drive to the SSD (for use with the email application - needs to be on the C: drive), I noticed that the transfer rate was 16-17MB/sec. Not bad, I thought, considering the transfer rate for USB 2.0.
After that completed, I moved the files from the flash drive to a folder on the WD HDD so I could delete the files from the flash drive. What was interesting was that the transfer from the same USB drive, in the same USB slot, transferred to the WD drive 4 times faster - at 60MB/sec.
What gives???
