Okay.. the budget is about $1200... heres what I got..

Lian-li pc-65b - $118
Soltek SL-K8AN2E-GR - $89.50
Albatron 6800 GT - $406
Antec TRUE 550 - $98
Athlon 64 3200+ (512kb l2 cache) - $191
OCZ Performance series 1gb pc-3200 - $200
EMU 0404 soundcard - $100

okay all that adds up to just about $1200... went with one stick of memory so i have the possibility of going up to 2 gigs later? I liked the benches of the motherboard.. other than that.. any recommendations? Things you would change out and why?

I don't plan on overclocking, and I already have hard drives, dvd burners etc.. all that..

Looks good. A True 550 may be overkill if you aren't OCing unless you have a ton of drives.

well, I was just taking a guess at how much power I would need since I honestly had no idea...

I would have a 160 gig hard drive and a 60 gig hard drive in the computer... a dual layered dvd burner as well as a regular dvd-rom drive...

other than that... just needs to power those 2 hard drives, 2 dvd drives...

Instead of Albatron get a BFG. About same price, better performance and a good warranty.

You can also consider eVGA, XFX, and Leadtek.

leadtek and eVGA are options, but i have no clue who makes good GT's.. i'd seen some benches of the gt ultra and it seemed like albatron wasn't too bad.. but.. heh, thats why im here :)

Looks like an excellent rig. Changing to a True430 PSU would save you around 30 bucks and still be enough for what you have there. 550W is overkill, but then again, a difference of $30 when you're spending over $1k isn't a big deal.
