Built my sister a new computer but it seems to be sluggish. Boots quickly into windows but seems very sluggish when on the internet. Seems slower then my old 1800xp. My computer just seems more snappy and responsive.

Computer is

amd 7850
2gb gskill pc 8500
biostar ta790gx xe
seagate 250gb 16mb 7200.10

When I started the computer for the first time I had to manually set the memory at 1066 as it was only running at 800 each in dual channel. In windows xp home, the computer says 1.75 is available memory. I figure the onbaord video is using some but I can't figure out how to get the thing to use more. It currently on auto but I can also set it up to 512mb. Also I see that you can clock the onboard video up to 533mhz. It's currently running at 400. Don't know if this needs to be higher or what to speed things up. Also I'm using the build in network port. Might this be the cause making it seem so slow? Would adding a seperate card fix this?

Any suggestions.

It could be video card drivers. I would update them and/or chipset drivers. This can cause a mouse to start skipping or feeling sluggish.
