I just setup a new computer for a friend, AMD64 3200+ w/ an ABit Kv8-Pro mobo and 1GB of PC3200 DDR (not sure the exact type of ram).
Now the problem is when he turns on the computer the ramcount starts, and it seems slower than it should be, taking almost 20sec to hit 1GB, but when it does hit 1GB, it drops back to 0 and keeps counting up, and just keeps looping. If we just cancel the ramcount the computer seems to run fine, we've installed XP, ran Prime95 for quite some time, and MemTest86, and all check out, so as to why this is occuring i'm not completely sure.
The ram is in 2x512MB Sticks, and we've tried both sticks seperately, and it doesnt fix it.
I also have a Kv8-Pro in my machine and i dont have this problem, nor have I ever seen something like it. Anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening, or how to fix it?
