With any luck, I'll be building a new computer this month. Anyway, I'd appreciate suggestions on parts. I can't go much more than the prices I've already put. I'm looking for the most performance-per-dollar.

Here's what I was thinking about getting so far,

$224 E6600
$140 ($90) Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model PDC22G6400LLK - Retail
$63 Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3250820AS 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
$90 Win XP Home
$50 ($40)COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel, SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
$49.99 XCLIO GOODPOWER 500W ATX 500W Power Supply 115/230 V UL, CUL, TUV, CB, VDE, FIMKO, DEMKO, NEMKO, SEMKO - Retail
$144 MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Note, I already bought a video card. Also, whatever MoBo I get must have atleast 3 PCI slots, look at my signature to see why.

Looks like you've done your research, those parts look good.

There's only one exception and that's with the PSU. You don't want to skimp on the power supply as it's arguably the most important component in your system. I would go with a PSU from Silverstone/Enermax/Seasonic/OCZ if you wanted a higher-quality PSU. If budget is an issue, I would get a FSP (Fortron Source) PSU of 450+ Watts. Fortron makes some good budget PSUs.
