So I'm thinking of spending something around $1440 ( or 1200? and that's really pushing it ) on a new computer. I need the case and a new monitor ( I already have the rest ). Here's what I'm thinking of buying:

LC POWER 480W MODULAR V2
ASUS A8N-SLI SE SOCKET 939
AMD OPTERON 64 146 VENUS SOCKET 939 BOX ( 1 MB cache, 2000 MHz )
G.SKILL 2x512MB ZX SERIES DUAL CHANNEL PC3200
WESTERN DIGITAL 320GB SATA II 16MB CACHE 3200KS
ASUS EXTREME EN7800GT/2DHTV 256MB GDDR3

This comes to a grand total of $1242 ( or 993,6? ) on the store where I'm buying it. I still have to buy a monitor ( CRT, flat, handles 100 Hz @ 1024x768 ) and a new case. If you can, please give your suggestion.

I am thinking of overclocking the CPU quite a bit ( i found this screenshot of it @ 3200 MHz only on air oO )

My questions are:

Would a DFI Ultra-D be a better purchase for overclocking?
Are the memories good or should I switch them? Would 2GB be worth the price?
For how long will I be able to play the latest games fairly well ( around 50 / 60 fps ) ?
Will the power supply be enough? I hear it's high quality.
Will the 7800GT be a bottleneck? I never used one so I don't know it's specs.

Anyone knows of a shop that ships to Europe where I can get better pricing?

Thank you all for your help. Feel free to give out opinions!

just to let ya know, the screenshot isn't the same as the on you have; the screenier one is socket 940

for overclocking DFI seems to be the best out there.
the video and memory looks good. but you can get 2GB's of RAM for about $200 or so.
I would upgrade the PSU. Sames you seem to liek modular PSU's i would probaly go with a Hiper 580W Type-R or silverstone strider 600W/

which part of europe is the question. i know a online store that does besiness in the Uk, France, and Germany.

In europe, Portugal. Must ship and not be very expensive shipping ( I wont be buying the case from there of course ) :(

So do you think this Opteron 148 won't do that kind of extreme overclocking?
The memory will cost me around $130 .. can I get 2gb with good overclocking ability for around $200 ? :|

About the monitor, suggestions?

Please have in mind that I do have a budget to bear.

Thanks again.

you mean Opteron 146? :p if you're an experienced overclocker, you can get 3.0 but don't get disappointed if you get 2.9. could you say what overclocks you're hoping for? cause if you find only one computer that got it up to 3.2, what are your chances?

*bump*

Still need a monitor suggestion.

If I do overclock the CPU to 2800 MHz do I get the Opteron's 154 performance?

Thanks.
