So, the first time I go to build a computer from the ground up, I obviously screw something up. Everything is connected as it should be (or so the manual says) and all jumpers were left in the default positions, however, when I go to switch it on, my monitor simply stays in sleep mode and the power led does nothing but continuously blink. I've connected the harddrive that I'm currently on and get the same result, so it's not the new drive. Also, the cpu fan, north bridge fan and RAM led on the motherboard are all active, so I don't think it's the power supply. The video card works fine, too, since I just yanked it out of this machine last night, so I don't think it's a display problem. I did have a bit of difficulty getting the cpu heatsink and fan on, so I'm afraid I may have cracked my core. I'm hoping someone here can tell me otherwise. Any suggestions are welcome. Here are my specs:
P4 2.4 533 bus
Gigabyte 8KNXP
512 (2x256) Kingston hyper X DDR 333
WD 80 gig SATA
Enermax 350 W power supply
MSI GF 4 4400
