We bought separate parts and built the computer in late december, and it's been giving us problems ever since. When we're in the middle of playing a game, the computer will sometimes shut off, the moniter will go white and we'll get a repetition of the last sound, or the program will abort and we'll be left at the desktop. I've never seen the cpu go over 50 C using the abit monitering program that came w/mobo and I have a Zalman 7xxx al/cu heatsink, so I don't think the problem lies in an overheating cpu.

Everything is at stock.

If the motherboard's using AUTO memory voltage, try raising that to 2.7 volts and see how that goes.

Where do I check to see if the mem voltage is on AUTO and if it is where do I change it? I assume it's in BIOS but where specifically? I'm a computer newbie.

On an Abit AV8, you'd go into the BIOS and then enter the uGuru section, and it'll be the "DDR SDRAM Voltage" setting :)

"We" is my family, I'm 16 yo and I picked out the parts for my dad to buy. I raised the DDR SDRAM Voltage to 2.70 from 2.65, if nothing crashes like usual over the next few days I'll happy.
