Well the time has come for me to get rid of what im using and go for something a little more future proof.

My current setup is in my sig. I was thinking of upgrading to a AMD 5200 or 6000 but after a little bit more research i am not able to do that as my mobo is a socket 939. :( so its a no go for doing that and then discovered that the 4800 is rarer than rare.

So my next thought was going for one of the core 2 duos as everything i have read, stat they own. Not a fan boy of either but i do want best bang for buck and best future proof wise.

So i was thinking of grabbing the
E6600 4mb cache

2 gig ram - have no idea what is what with this.

ASUS 8800gts 320 card

and as for the mobo well i'm a little lost was leaning towards
ASUS S775 P5b Delux/Wifi Core 2.

Some help would be fantastic also looking at spending around $1300 Australian.

I got almost exactly the same stuff you're talking about and I almost had the same rig as you previously as well...LOL. I went with the e6600, a Gigabyte DS3 mobo (seems to be really popular), 2gb Geil DDR2 800mhz and a PNY 8800 GTS (320mb)...and it is significantly faster than my previous rig. I spent $800 USD (and sold my old stuff for $250), so it only really cost me $550. A bargain as far as I'm concerned.
