New computer has problems already...

I just built a computer, and specs will be listed below. First, my problem. After connecting all power cables and power switches, and everything else, I go to turn on the computer, but nothing happens. Nothing turns on, no lights, no anything.

When I turn the computer off and unplug the PSU, I can hear the whine of the PSU.

Specs are

Pentium D 830
Gigabyte GA8N-SLI Royal
2x512 OCZ DDR2 667 PC2 5400
eVGA 7800GT
Coolermaster Centurion 5 Mid-ATX
WD Raptor 36GB
Seagate Barracuda 80gb
Creative Audigy 2ZS

I'm wondering if maybe my power switch or power switch wiring is bad, the mobo is bad, the cpu is bad, or if the PSU is bad.

I would try if you haven't already:

A different power cord, or check it on a different device like a printer or monitor.

Check to see if your main powerswitch wiring is on correctly, check the MB maual to see where it should go on the MB and make sure you have it that way. Check the instructions for the case to see if something different is called for with the power button wiring. Maybe you have a broken power button on the case...

Can you test a different PSU? Or put the PSU in a different rig? Check the lines with a voltmeter?

I freaked out for a few minutes with the same issue and then figured out that I had put on the main power switch MB wiring, but it came off as I was wiring something else.
