For me, almost no deal is worth going to CompUSA because they are too stupid to build a store in Chicago that is not located downtown or in the boondock suburbs! /Foaming-mouth-rant-ended

anyone know how good the $39.99 burner is? It'd be a lot easier to buy it then order newegg's LiteOn one for same price but is there a big difference in quality?

just a word of advice. Pass on the 11b compusa router. It is actually branded compusa and it is a big grey lump of crap. I got one right here. It won't even work correctly without a firmware update and even then you got quite a bit of time beating your head against it to make it work. You can get better (and cheaper) ones elsewhere.

$40 for a CDRW is cold in my book. Maybe if you need high quality but burners can be had for $10 these days (or free with some work on the OfficeMax/Staples deals). Now $40 for a DVD burner...

I've been using one for several months as a wireless access point - no problems. I updated the latest firmware (Gigafast I think, easy to find out) and it's worked flawlessly for my purposes.

They have a block in the add that says 50% off all photo paper. That may be good depending on what there normal prices are.

I've got one of those wireless routers, and it ain't bad. I had to update the firmware before it would work, but it wasn't bad after that.

I'm tempted on the 256 MB USB 2.0 FlashDrive $49.99 ($20 instant).
Lowest on pricewatch was around $55 from no-name stores. Not a hot deal but a warm deal.

Ooh, and Newegg has one for $55 as well and they are not a no-name store :D .

"Kodak EasyShare camera for $99.97 (CX6200)"
This is not much of a deal. That is its list price.

Hehehehe.. That reminds me of BB deal from couple weeks ago, buy 2 Canon cartridges and get that photo paper free. Black cartridges for my Canon i320 were only $6.50 a piece :D

There needs to be more details in the first post as to what specifically is a hot deal. Not just a link to the entire ad.

I don't know who manufactures them but I bought them a week ago. My experience with them isn't good. The 3 DVDs I burned -- one movie, 2 photo/video DVDs for the grandparents -- all were unreadable midway through the DVDs. I had to go out and get expensive TDKs to re-burn the grandparents' DVDs. When I was burning only CDs, I never had a problem with generic brands and scoffed at people who bought branded ones. Now I'll buy branded DVD-Rs for burning DVDs that are priceless like family photo/video archives. It's probably OK to use CompUSA DVD-Rs for burning movies if it's OK for you to lose a chapter or two...
