I knew this guy back when I was in Hs. Tall skinny white kid from TX, but was born in Zimbabwe and lived there until he was ~4. I kept trying to convince him to list himself as "African-American" on his college apps. Too bad he never did... Now that would have started a ruckus!

Mattera, who is of Puerto Rican descent, is himself a recipient of a $5,000 scholarship open only to a minority group.

"No matter what my ethnicity is, I'm making a statement that scholarships should be given out based on merit and need," Mattera told the Providence Journal.

So he'll be giving back his $5,000 scholarship based on priciple, right?

Its just sad that a people group whose majority enjoys a significant advantage in financial prosperity hates on those who need help because they are not as fortunate. If they were doing this to help a poor white person, and there are poor whites, it would be fine. But instead its to further attack those who get help because they need it, but happen to be minority.

But instead its to furhter attack those who get help because they are a minority but may need help.
