My answer : nope. There were sooo many out there, the only way that it'd be collectible is if it was in pristine (read: new) shape, and you got someone who has a supreme interest in collecting them down the line.

i got 2 gameboy colors for ~5 bucks from somewhere. i even made a board with a flash chip to go into them... unfortunately nintendo decided above a certain size rom you need a special mux chip. it was either cannibalize an old cartridge or make one. fuck that. i think they're in a box somewhere flashed with either tetris or some stupid tony hawk game.
