New COD Advanced Warfare trailer

Not sure about it myself. The game's such a cluster of stuff that I feel like it's more distracting than engaging. That, and the copy-paste features are SO blatant.

They are copying the "dynamic map" concept from Battlefield. The booster pack's just like Titanfall's. They have abilities that look like Promethean Vision and Thruster Pack from Halo 4. They have a move that looks like the Titan Smash thing in Destiny. The Goliath looks like a mini-Titan. I just don't see what Advanced Warfare has done, other than take 4-5 different shooters, grab a bunch of their features, then throw them into a blender with live grenades.

I like that they take other successful elements from other games though? Why not, learn from the competition and improve your product. That said, I'm not sure what I think about this COD. I'm gonna buy it, cause there aren't a lot of great PS4 games. I really hope it turns out good, I won't be surprised if it doesn't though.

There's learning from the competition, and then there's plain copying. What do they offer that's unique from the experiences elsewhere? It just feels like a console FPS mash-up, but a good franchise that has added to itself.

Yea taking elements from other games and combining them can end up great or end up really bad. I'll wait for reviews on it though to see if they improved on anything.

It looks really good, but... It's CoD. Not holding my breath. I'll pick this up at $20 for single player.

is the DLC still gonna fragment the online playerbase? it's always disappointing when the numbers on playlists start dropping when DLC comes out because those with DLC can't play with those without. IMO that's one of the things that leads to the death of these games.

CoD clichés abound. QTEs all over the place, super-stable aiming while riding a bus, as-expected melee, as-expected slow-mo pistol encounter. Honestly, I was hoping for something legitimately new from these guys, but it's the same stuff with new paint and toys stolen from other FPS franchises.

This makes me a little less-intrigued by the game, but I won't write it off because of it. It's just that it's a 3-minute video of the all-new CoD, and I feel like it was just a wrap-up of how you can expect at least one encounter to go in each title in the series.

Too many familiar elements in it, even the reloading of the gun is exactly the same as the SCAR-H in previous CoD, etc. People will be buying this game for single player, I wouldn't be surprised if multiplayer is the same thing like always and that Sledgehammer probably falling into the CoD vicious cycle.

I totally forgot I preordered the Day Zero edition on Amazon, I saw the shipping notification on my phone this morning. I was going to wait on reviews for this one since I never really liked Ghosts and skipped it but what the hell, I might like this one. Looks different enough.

This is the first time in a while that I won't be getting this at midnight.. weird. Gonna wait for the general opinion from everyone first. Also, waiting on holiday deals to pick up games.

I pre-ordered it, but I'm playing SO (trying to finish up the collection Achievements and side quests), so there was no reason to go out there at 11 PM. Instead, I'll wrap this up soon (hopefully tomorrow), then flip it when I pick up CoD. Basically, I only got it because they had the trade-up offer at Best Buy, where I was able to get a $15 copy of Ghosts at Sam's Club, trade it for $20 at Best Buy, and get another $10 coupon off of the game, meaning that my GCU put the total game purchase at about $33 for the game, plus it'll get me another $10 certificate towards SSB on the Wii U.

Yep it's the exact same game, marketing has come a long way with it's ability to convince people of 'new' things and have them get burned and re-convinced only 1 year later.

Looks fun, but a little over the top for my taste.

Then again, my favorite FPS of all time was the original Rainbow 6 with the mission planning and all that good stuff.

Reviews seen to be decent for this one. Seems closer to the Black Ops versions which I loved and always liked more than Modern Warfare.

I'm installing it. I was too lazy to pick it up last night, and the trip to Best Buy took an hour because of multiple register/server issues at the store. I don't have the highest of hopes (Sledgehammer's only other work was MW3 and that was a total abomination, second only to Ghosts). Still, after a year off from CoD, I'm ready to play again. I always liked the Black Ops II style of giving you a bunch of toys to play with in the campaign, so I'm into doing that again here.

Do you die as quickly and easily in MP like in Ghosts?

It's actually easier to run away and escape because of the Exosuit. Also you have to look out from literally all angles, even above because of the Exosuit. Once you get the hang of it, it's real fun.
