On question: do you approve or disapprove the way Obama is handling his job:

majority of Whites disapprove: 45% approve vs 54% disapprove
overwhelming non-Whites approve: 78% approve vs 20% disapprove
overwhelming democrates approve: 87% approve vs 12% disapprove
overwhelming republican disapprove: 19% approve vs 81% disapprove
majority of independents approve: 54% approve vs 45% disapprove
overwhelming tea party supporters disapprove: 22% approve vs 77% disapprove
overwhelming tea party opposers approve: 88% approve vs 12% disapprove

sampling error is +- 3%.

wtf? I'm a pretty moderate if not liberal independent, and currently I'm probably somewhere in between indifferent and approval of Obama, I just think polls like this are stupid and a waste of time to drool over regardless of what side you're on, so not sure how that makes me a partisan hack.

Sounds about right to me. Obama made a deal with the Republicans on taxes, hasn't (yet) made any radical executive branch changes like cap and tax, and made a great speech at the Tuscon Memorial. On the other side, Democrats and the media have been bashing Republicans and conservatives for being responsible for that shooting, if only through some bizarre osmosis that only progressives can see. Makes sense that Obama would be up, he's been acting less partisan and more Presidential.

Watch it plummet after the state of the union where he is guaranteed to bring up gun control. Please, oh please Obama mention gun control legislation.

But the main reason is he hasn't really touched any of his policies or ideas. He's been wisely quiet. Once he starts opening his manchurian marxist maroon mouth all will return to hatred of him.

Well if they didn't break it down by race they wouldn't be able to continue their lie that people hate Obama because he's black, because you know, what you think of how he is doing his job as president is an indicator of racial feelings.

Good thing the error is 3% because the Tea Party having a higher approval of Obama than Republicans would be ridiculous
