New Cinemax show..Banshee

This show is great. I caught up over the last three days and its pretty damn good. There is this undercurrent of rage to all the characters, especially those snippets that they show after the credits. Very strange casting. The main character has this Max Payne grimace on his face all the time. The lead actress almost never gets any speaking parts in her other roles. Its just strange to see her in a pivotal role in something. But Proctor and Rabbit are spot on. At first I was fairly meh on the pilot, but it ended well, and it gets better and better with each episode.

And just like in the movie Witness, I am reminded how hot Amish chicks are. Even when Proctor put that Amish hat on the hooker...

I must be the only person who watches this for how bad it is. It's like a B movie dragged out. The acting is laughably bad and the plot makes you cringe. I'm convinced it has so many explicit sex scenes because it's attempting to distract you from how bad the rest of the show is.

hahaha At some point you give in and enjoy it for what it is. I'm actually interested in how Proctor vs Rabbit turns out, cause you know Rabbit will eventually end up in Banshee and you can already see the beginnings of a Hood/Proctor alliance. Ahh...you know what this is like...a poor mans Deadwood.

And hot Amish chick.

If it is so bad why watch it? That makes no sense. I can think of plenty of songs/shows etc that are bad imo but I would never listen/watch them, that is just silly

I pretty much felt the same way about it. Reminded me of a 90's USA network TV show. It's not at all up to what we've come to expect from a premium cable channel. I was done after the first episode after struggling to sit through it.

This thread just found me a nice show to have as background noise when I'm doing something else. Skinemax, I welcome you.

That's the perfect example of what this show is. I made it through the episodes as I've started a rule of at least three eps before casting final judgement. I DVR'd the last one just because i'm interested in how far in stupidity can it go. Not sure if i'll finish the series before I lose interest, but then I did watch a lot of 90s USA networks late at night.

I think this was in episode 5. Bail, then made a deal with Hood.

wiki shows episode 5 as "The Kindred"

I started that episode and it seemed to show Proctor already out of jail, so I was like, wtf? how did he get out?

The previous episode is Half Dead is Better Than All Dead and that was the one with the museum heist in the beginning, which is the last episode I saw where he was put in jail.

He probably got out on bail in Episode 4. Its hard to remember, I watched 5 episodes in 3 days. But I know he went to court, got out on bail,
then made that deal with Hood for the Bikers location in exchange for the evidence against him on the murder charge.

I watch episode 5 last night and realized i think i misread your previous post. I thought you said episode 5 was called "Bail".

They did mention he got out on bail, but it was several minutes into the episode after we saw him walking around the street festival, so it was kind of confusing that way. However I don't recall that they made a deal. I guess you could interpret that since they showed the biker dude in proctor's trunk and then we see Hood going all ninja on the bikers at their "hideout".

There was a bail hearing that was pretty prominent. The whole town showed up, and he was granted bail by the same judge that dismissed the case in the pilot. As far as the deal, the Asian hacker gave Hood a keycard, and then later the evidence was stolen using the same type of keycard. I assume to deal was quid pro quo, since Hood previously asked what it would take to get the bikers location. Shortly after we see Hood kicking those bikers asses.

EDIT: OK, he got the bail hearing in episode 4, 50:39. It was right after the scene where he choked the mayor from his jail cell. hahahahaha

If you missed Proctor choking the Mayor, you missed a good 10 minutes, maybe more.

I kind of like the show despite its cheesiness - I think it's the molten hotness of that Amish chick that keeps me coming back.

Yup on both points, although I think I was in during the first 5 minutes of the pilot when he just got out of prison, stopped for coffee, then banged that waitress. Ass kickin' anti hero, good villians, hot chicks...cant really ask for more, except for Orion slave girls.

I enjoy the show....I think......but for the life of me I can't figure out some of the pulsing gaping holes in the plot.

A) After he almost murders the MMA fighter....it was on video....100 people saw him hit the guy first, and then beat him almost to death....how is he not in jail now, or stripped of his badge? Once it goes on the internet on youtube as it showed at the end of the episode that should've been the end of it for him...because remember he's "the most famous bank robber in america" and no one recognizes him???

B) He's assaulted like 20 people so far, yet none of the other officers bat an eyelash, even the guy that was supposed to be the new sheriff...
