I went on the tour in NBC up in NYC around 2003 and they said it was 5 secs ever since the 80's but that often it doesn't catch anything. The Sinead O'Conner incident being a big "for instances" the guide brought up.

Of course that was before the Janet thing at the superbowl, so who knows.

"I knew he was a fuckin' robot!"

I wish I could remember the episode, or who he was talking about, but it made it to air un-bleeped.


And you know, they should probably change that "BEEEP" sound, because it always evokes such naughty, naughty thoughts, just the same as an unholy word might evoke. Why I might go out and start raping and pillaging!

Hell an F-bomb even made it through the cracks on Family Guy one time. I forget which episode, but it was a one of those shitty cutaway scenes with a dude driving an SUV while watching some cartoon and says, "these animals are so fucking funny!".

That's a different situation since they're not a broadcast station like NBC. They can do whatever they want. Any censoring they choose to do is by their own determination.
 
mm I watched the whole shot and that skit and didn't see it. Is this confirmed? Sounds like a BS story to me.

The show overall was pretty lame, though I am a big SNL fan.

Please tell me what airwaves Comedy Central occupies.

Comedy Central is a cable/satellite network, NOT a broadcast station or network. People PAY for their content and thus it is protected free speech, unlike broadcasts over-the-air and accessible to all (thus, subject to the FCC's vulgarity protections). It's why they could play South Park the movie uncut and uncensored, though they've chosen to censor it on some showings, they've shown it uncensored and advertised it as such in the past.

Yes of course it's tape delayed. After all that stuff that happened true live tv died. There will always be a minor tape delay on everything now.

the whole thing is sofa king stupid.

I don't really see the need for censorship on tv at all, but especially during late night hours.
 
The tape delay didn't catch System Of A Down when the guitarist screamend "FUUUUUCK YOOOOOU!" near the end of BYOB a couple of seasons ago on SNL.

What a weak show in general. The whole thing centered around Meagan Fox being "hot". The whole Will Forte date thing blew goats. U2 fucking sucks now. Their music reminds me of when Metallica thought it'd be cool to be disjointed retards in St. Anger. It's not cool. They've fallen very far since Joshua Tree.
