They did, as NSF4 pointed out, it was called the Catera.

Check out the (new) GTO interior, nearly identical, with the minor exception of the climate controls.

THe Catera did not have that interior nor did it have the available powertrains.

I still dont' think the Catera platform is the same as the car pictured in this thread. Isn't the Caprice a full-szie car?

The car picture here, the Holden Commodore, is based upon the Opel Omega platform, as was the Cadillac Catera. The Commodore has a slightly longer wheelbase and a much nicer interior vs the Catera, but they share the same platform.

Yeah 50k is a steal... you can have them imported but for an extra 10k for that you could just get a BMW...
