No stupid geese in this one, they actually have the squirrels in it. Mike Teevee appears to be a video game addict now, though. Hopefully they will leave out the bit with the Fizzy Lifting Drinks, too.

If this does well enough, I wonder if they will make Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator next? That one just doesn't seem like movie material.

I can't wait to see this movie. I want to see how they updated it to modern tech and special effects.

The original movie is one of my all time favorites. This trailer is much better than the teaser...my confidence is somewhat restored.

Looks OK, hard to get a read. Johnny Dep's voice as Wonka is a bit annoying from the trailer though, I hope it doesn't get too bad during the movie.

What is that one about again? Been a long time since I've read that book, 15yrs at least.

Johnny Depp as Wonka just doesn't click with me. He looks wierd. Not what I'd imagine Wonka to look like.

Charlie's grandparents are made young and then made old again, except Grandpa Joe who opted out from the whole Wonka-Vite bit in the first place. They visit Space Hotel USA only to find it has been invaded by Vermicious Knids.

Is this the one with michael Jackson... err, umm, Johnny Depp? He still looks like a freak in every clip/pic I've seen.

I'm not sure about this, I don't know how you can make a better Willy Wonka than Gene Wilder...

Two things: 1. Willy Wonka's personality seems arrogant. 2. I thought the Glass Eleveator had buttons all over the inside, and was supposed to be a fyling Glass Elevator.

Johnny Depp is not supposed to be Willy Wonka. He is Charlie all grown up. It is supposed to be somewhat of a sequel.

i saw scenes from the movie at the theatre and Johnny Dep looks/acts way too freaky compared to Gene Wilder.

Where did you read that? The trailer makes it seem like the original.

:(

This could have been something amazing, especially with burton/depp/elfman...

And my fears from the last trailer have been confirmed, looks like a slapstickish, poorly written caricature of itself. Hitting a glass wall with your face? Has Burton really come down to Jim Carey's level of intelligence for the viewer? I cannot judge further until I see the film, and that's probably how they're marketing the film, but Willy Wonka was a fvcking dark book and Burton is a dark director.. the two seem to be at polar opposites in this film and it's going to fvcking disappoint the hell out of me if it's true.

It's a remake of the original. Johnny Depp may seem weird but that's him. He plays weird characters. His character in Pirates of the Caribian was weird, but he played that excellently.

I believe it's supposed to be more true to the book, and not a remake of the original film at all.

hmmm, seems to have a lot of the same as the original movie: the golden tickets, the same kids get to go to Willie Wonka's factory, the oompah loompahs...

ever think the whole thing is just a big LSD trip?

Pretty sure all that stuff was in the book ;)
And are you suggesting LSD is the special additive that makes the chocolate so good?

I loved the fizzy drink part! Then they had to fart to get down and....oh wait...that was a Family Guy episode.
