New Chair thats good for my back?

I'm looking for a new chair and wanted to get some suggestions. I need something that will give good back support, and I know it probably differs for each person, but any suggestions are welcome. Also how are those herman-miller chairs, and can they be found cheap nowadays (all the liquidating startups)?

Even a cheap herman miller would be around $250...

My suggestion is to look around, see what your back likes.

And don't limit yourself to officestores, check out some furniture stores and even liquidators like tuesday morning

OMG, i paid $800 for my Herman Miller Aeron, and it's one of the best money i ever spent. I use to get back/shoulder pain all the time from sitting at the computer for such long periods of time, but this chair is just awesome. If this chair broke tomorrow, i would immediately get another.

The Herman-Miller Aeron is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. I used it over the weekend once when the VP was out and it is DAMN comfortable for sure.

This isn't an exaggeration, but sometimes i look at ebay for a deal on another Aeron chair, because they're difficult to find in Canada... and i want a backup just incase i need one (most likely not, since these chairs are durable as hell).

Wow, seems like people overwhelminly like the Aeron chairs, anyone know of any cheap place to pick one up in portland?

Pawn shop, or look for any dot-com auctions.

Here's actually a review of the chair by Firingsquad Text

Chair hasn't changed in the last 10 years, except for a couple of new additions... like the new lumbar support. I have the old one currently, but plan on replacing it with the new one in the near future (about a $100 upgrade).

steelcase is what my chiropractor recommended for my back. its what he has for his receptionist. its a 1989 chair, bought used, but is in mint condition.

Wow, some of the steelcase chairs look good, especially the Leap. I'm going to see if there's a local place that carries it that i can try.
