im trying to decide which is a better phone to get I have alltel for a carrier
links:
Moto E815
Kyocera K5 Slider-Remix

Both phones come with 1.3 Mega pixel cameras that record videos as well.
Both phones also have an Mp3 player function.
Both have a slot for a MicroSD expansion card
the E815 has slightly larger screen on the inside
The E815 has slightly better talk time and much better standby battery life.
the K5 comes with earphones for the mp3 player function and a USB cable to sync 2 a PC
the K5 slides so it get cool points
the E815 has interchanable faceplates at some extra cost (slider cant at all)
the slider has analog mode which the E815 doesnt support(which may help since i go to school in Wayne Nebraska------------just a lil north east of nowhere---x.x )
the slider supports up to a 512Mb card and the E815 i believe supports a 1GB card
**correction both max out at 512 apparentyl

ne opinions on either phone would be helpful

Nokia 6255i

Java is disabled on Alltel phones except for this one. Unless you don't mind paying $9.99+ for Axcess Apps

I like my e815. It's big, and it's not perfect, but I recommend it.

If you think you may need analog though, definitely look elsewhere.

Yeah problem with the Motos is no analog. I'm also on Alltel in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so although most towns are good signal in digital, while traveling to and from school it needs to go to analog. Not that I necessarily need to use my phone right then, but its nice to know I would be able to if my car broke down.

I really like Kyocera phones, and sliders are cool, but unfortunately they are still subject to damaging the screen. So I'd probably choose the E815 (which generally gets great reviews).

I was looking into the Razr V3c myself, but I'm only a add-on line on someone elses contract, so basically they tell me I'd have to pay retail. FVCK THAT! Even the cheapest crappy phone is ridiculous retail. I can't believe that I've been a paying customer for almost 2 yrs and they don't give me a single incentive.

ive read some in depth reviews on the E815 but hardly anyone has the slider-remix some people have been having trouble with both phones but not alot of ppl thought that the E815 was great as far as camera and Mp3 player which are 2 of the bigger reasons(camera quality is the same sliders has more zoom and a better flash but the sliders mp3 player seems to have better quality and is easier to use since it accepts multiple formats unlike the E815) im deciding between these 2 because to some extent id much rather have a cool phone with decent reception and battery life than a blan phone with great reception and battery life the motorolas battery seems to last longer because it is bigger 1150mAh vs 900mAh and no analog and outer screen both of them work fully when closed which is nice cuz u only have to open it to answer it then close the phone and keep talking the voice dialing is nifty on the motorola but even cheap bluetooth sets seem to be around 50$ even though they would be a great help since i drive a stick i dont think id get one

I've got the E815.

I like it but the camera is practically worthless. It takes terrible pictures. Also, there are some weird bugs in the phone where it sometimes turns itself off (I've had this happen while on calls) and the ringer doesn't ring.

As a phone though, I'm pretty satisfied with it.

My dad does. It's ok, too expensive for what it is. His screen has held up fine and he's hard on it. The outside buttons are a little easy to push. He wants it always to ring, but sometimes the volume gets turned off with the volume down button. No way around it :(

Takes OK pictures, and is one of the better phones Alltel has, but that doesn't mean it's a good phone...
