Basically they expect you to use wi-fi for most of your data needs. If you constantly exceed the data limits on the cellular part, they'll kick you.

-$200 phone (LG Optimus - only one available) current deal (exp Nov19) for $99 (promo code "welcome19" )
-550 minutes, send 150 texts, and download 300 megabytes of data is the limit (anything on wi-fi doesn't count)
-Uses Sprint's network for cellular part
-Currently Beta

Wrong forum, under discussion in mobile devices.

Why say unlimited if there is a limit. Why not just post the limits?

I'm giving away unlimited cans of pepsi in my office today (There is a can of pepsi, after that my limit is reached).

LOL...unlimited with limits....

It's a cellular company that encourages you to do everything over wireless. Tmobile has (or used to have) this service.

Unlimited fail.

As all have mentioned, this is not unlimited service. Even if it were unlimited, then the monthly premium is 'too good to be true'.

I agree that it is exceptionally stupid for them to use the term "unlimited", however every cellular carrier does this in some form. Even with AT&T and Verizon on their "unlimited" plans, they would boot customers if their usage was considered "excessive". They've also booted customers for using the phone too much in areas where they don't own the tower that the phone connects to. (partner coverage)

Those numbers arent official limitations.
Uses T-Mobile not Sprint

It is unlimited - on wifi. It's also not a "Cell" carrier... it's a "Wifi" carrier that uses cellular as a backup service. This is being discussed extensively already over in the CORRECT FORUM.

Awesome! A cell phone that requires hotspots. :\

It sounds like an Ooma / straighttalk hybrid.

Every company offering "unlimited" anything is actually limited. This company instead just states an explicit level that will always be deemed fair usage. I see nothing wrong with this.

I think the walmart deal is better. Or the old virgin mobile plan.

Sprint doesn't here.

Holy crap. The best part about this thread is that it lead me to discover TELNA. I have no idea how I have not heard of this company before.

http://www.telnamobile.com/

$19/year for basically unlimited* text, $0.05/minute incoming and $0.08/minute outgoing, data is really expensive

It is all billed upon actual usage with second precision--they will not round up to the next minute.

BYOD and almost any GSM phone is compatible. This company looks geared to international travelers as they have support almost everywhere for very reasonable usage charges.

It uses the T-Mobile network in the USA and seems like a much better deal than the T-Mobile prepaid plan. The minimum for T-Mobile is $10/year for 35 minutes (or 100 text), both per year.

It seems all around better than T-Mobile prepaid with the possible exception of being literally an emergency-only phone. Even in that case the price difference is so insignificant POSTPAID is probably better in the case of an emergency and you need to actually make phone calls.

*unlimited incoming, 1000 outgoing/month ($0.03/text after)
