Looking into details now. Projected 119B savings. Still 14 million losing coverage next year. 23 million by 2026. A million more than the last proposal.

It's not that different from the last proposal. Lots of variables dependent on waivers when it comes to premiums.

The summary is good enough.

"CBO and JCT estimate that, in 2018, 14 million more people would be uninsured under H.R. 1628 than under current law. The increase in the number of uninsured people relative to the number projected under current law would reach 19 million in 2020 and 23 million in 2026. In 2026, an estimated 51 million people under age 65 would be uninsured, compared with 28 million who would lack insurance that year under current law. Under the legislation, a few million of those people would use tax credits to purchase policies that would not cover major medical risks."

I see no significant differences in CBO analysis between current version of the AHCA and the original version that never made it to the voting floor. The uninsured numbers and premium numbers are slightly different, but essentially the same, which is not surprising given that current AHCA version is just a slightly modified version 1.

As expected looks like elderly people a few years away from being able to qualify for medicare are getting screwed the most. Elderly people making a bit more than minimum wage would be paying 50% of gross income towards insurance. But hey, access to insurance is the same as healthcare. /s

I'd say you're anger is misplaced. The estimate is most of those will simply opt out by choice. Not have it taken from them. The impact to the aging population is what I find most appalling.

Not accurate. The majority are poor people losing Medicaid.

So does this mean I won't see what the President promised:

Lower cost *maybe for some but I've got a preexisting condition* so it's doubtful
Lower prescription costs
Better coverage
Lower deductibles
Coverage for all
More choices *again maybe but sounds like more shitty choices*

I don't need health coverage at this time, I couldnt afford anything but the bare minimum yet I dont qualify for subsidized coverage, and Im not willing to subsidize the coverage of other people. One less step on my tax returns is a boon for me, as well not worrying about state exchanges and having to pour through their barely working websites to find if my income indeed qualifies for exemption.

For all this talk of evil fat cats - insurance companies operate on massive profits. AHCA forcing coverage increases their revenue further. Yell Repub This amd Repub That all you want. Fix the costs first prioritize the money going into other hands and maybe then youll have a leg to stand on.
