hi all, just curious, i thought ati was releasing the new Catalyst drivers this week that actualy worked with the x1900xtx? im sick of not being able to play bf2 with special forces because of the major problem. id just likre a real driver to be released considering they already slapped out a vista driver youd think they could get some working drivers since the cards has been out a few weeks now. i find it amazing that they would release their flagship card with horid beta drivers.

i would too. getting my x1900xt in the mail today, guess i gotta use the drivers disk or the 6.2beta drivers?

the 6.2 beta is pretty much junk as are the ones on the CD that comes with the card; use the omegas based on 6.1

The beta 6.2 is out in case you haven't seen it.

I don't play BF2, but have read it fixed a few problems there. It definately increases performance a bit, and fixed the problem I was having in EQ2 using AA.

What kind of problems are you having ? I have seen a fairly good response on them so far. It has been working well for me, however I only got them in last night so I dont have much time logged yet.

ahh, good ill give the 6.2 beta a try, im using the ones that were on the saphire install cd and its a mess with bf2 special forces. i tried the omega drivers but i had huge problems ,artifaticng ,and eventual crash. was horible. i went back to using the ones that came on the saphire install disc.

I'm having better luck with the drivers that came on the cd with my card than the 6.2 betas.

The 6.2 betas gave me some graphic "anomolies" in Quake 4.
Whereas the "modified" ones on the driver cd play perfect.

But Quake 4 was the ONLY issue i had, everthing else plays PERFECT with either set of drivers.
note: since it was only one game it could be something other than the drivers, it could have been just the settings i chose in Quake 4...i'm not sure.

Honestly, i too would like an "official" driver release, but i dont see why people complain so much since we do have drivers available that work VERY well.

I think more people were PO'ed about having to use the CCC than anything else....But slowly the Ati "tweak programs" are supporting the card so you no longer have to use CCC which is a big plus.
