New Case

😀 Hi everyone:
For chistmas I am building a new rig and would appreciate case recomendations. Im planning on using some sort of XP chip and an nForce mobo, anyway I was just wondering if anyone had case recomendations. please nothing over $125. Thanks for your help

for a case for that budget, i'd say go with the antec sx1040. I personally don't have one but I really want one to try it out because everyone says it's so great. If you want something cheaper and smaller, i'd suggest the enlight 7237az... however, people have mixed feelings about this one.

Antec SX1040/B. hands down. The best case for the $. MicroBarn or the Nerds sell them for reasonable prices. EMSComputing has them, but they are a relatively shady dealer so I would avoid. Also note that the cases sold at NEWEGG are NOT Antec retail cases. They have cheaper (and worse) enlight power supplies in them.

I just got the SX840, I love the 1040 also but when I thought how often I change cd's, the door didnt sound like a good idea anymore.

Anyway, what a great case! Easy to work on, rooms for lots of fans, great 400 watt supply.

The drive cages on the Antec SX8x0 and SX10x0 have a mounting place for an 80mm fan, that makes for a real nice drive cooler.

I've never owned a Lian Li case. I've seen one in person, it was a way cool case as far as looks and being super light weight. It definitly has that cool appeal about it.

The one I saw was not as big as my SX840, and it's feature set was different. I liked that it had fan filters for the intake fans, and the front usb panel. By the time I added a 400 watt supply, the price would have been way out my range.

The door easily pops on and off.

Greetings All-
I just bought an Antec SX1040B and I like it a lot. With plenty of cooling options, 400W p/s and sturdy construction, this is truly an awesome case. Be warned, it is quite heavy. It actually deadens the sound of my Thermaltake SK-6 Extreme (40 cfm) setup to a bearable level. Cheers!

Crap..... 🙂

r0ck.... yes, if you would like to spend twice as much as you normaly would, and get really crappy service, then you can buy from pchertz.

Another bump for the Antec case. I've got a SX1030B and love it. Lotsa room, lockable side cover, front door(keeps my 1 yr old son out of it and hides my beige drives). Got mine from Directron in Houston. Did the walk-in thing. Reseller ratings do 2 things. Warns you of the shady dealers and informs you that every dealer has had someone that has had bad dealings with them.

if you guys were to recommend a Lian-Li what are the differences between the PC-6( something) ? thats a good thing to post for someone who asks that question and i was going to go and look but Lian-Li's site is terrible. I too am interested to know the differences.

😱
