Can anyone recommend a good case with good cooling in the $100. range? I looked at some on Newegg and couldn't come up with a good one..

Hard to get a better deal than the Cooler Master 690 - $65 shipped after rebate. But with all that mesh, it would be hard to keep really quiet. The Rosewill R5600 series or their R6A models are also excellent for the money and probably quieter than the 690. The CoolView case in my FS/T listing is now $75. +sh. :D . But you'd have to complete your Profile to buy it - about time, eh?

See that little icon of the man the with blue exclamation point on your posts, click that (or your avatar) and you'll see your Profile is empty. You can probably fill yours in at that point. If not, click the "Profile" button at the top of the page (next to the "New Topic" button) to fill yours in - click the icon on one of my posts and you'll see one that's completed. Also good to be registered at Heatware.com - like eBay Feedback for non-eBay transactions.

BTW, the link to my FS/T thread is in my signature, below.

Cooler Master or not, it's a pretty sharp box w/ some unique features.

Since this thread already exists, maybe somebody can help me pick a case with a higher maximum price, let's say up to $400. I've been looking at the coolermaster cosmos 1000 and the tj10 and I am trying to find other cases in the same class. I want alot of space, alot of internal hard drive slots, and a good way to cool the hard drives. I would have gotten the cosmos already but i've heard complaints about lack of hard drive cooling. I thought the tj10 had decent hard drive cooling but a maximum pc article i just read says it does not.

Any other recommendations? Or maybe somebody can confirm whether either case can have a fan blow air on the hard drives?

Stoneburner,

This thread is for $100 and under, perhaps you'd have better success with a separate thread.

How many are "a lot of HDD bays". Someone might stop by and show you pix of his refrigerator-size server box... [L=This one]http://www.servercase.com/miva/miva?/Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SC&Product_Code=GHS-2000&Category_Code=Adv+Server[/L is small relative to his...

Then there is the Lian Li Modular Cube (video review #738 on 3DGameMan.com) that can hold up to six drive cages with 4 or 5 HDD bays per cage. A Mountain Mods cube case may work as well and be cheaper than the L-L.

Thermaltake has some large boxes too.
