New case will have empty slots

I've got a Lian Li V1200BPlus on the way, but I've run into a problem. It'll be nearly empty.

I use an external DVD drive, so I won't have an internal one. I won't have a floppy drive, or any other optical drive for that matter. So, I've got all these slots with nothing to put in them.

Image for reference.

What I'm looking for are some "gadgets" that can fit in nicely and take up that wasted space. Things like fan controllers with LED's, etc. Anything that will make it more visually appealing; "rice".

Any ideas?

1. It ain't rice until it has one of those gaudy VU meter things to display temperature/sound levels/how much your computer is ashamed of itself.

2. With one of those VFD display jobbies the computer could actually display text like "Please, make the ricing stop".

3. Ricing a Lian Li is a crime against humanity.

Also, there are now storage drawer things that go into a 5.25" slot. You could toss in some hotswap bays if that's your thing. Maybe a Zip drive? I dunno.

I lol'ed at that.

On a side note, If you want a snack and you have two ATI 2900 crossfire'd video cards in your tower, All you need to do is point your fans in the CPU at that drawer and you could cook an egg in it.

OK - you have an external DVD burner. Why not add an internal as well? That way you can do disk to disk copies.

Also, consider a mobile rack - they now come in SATA. That would allow you to hot plug a backup or auxiliary HDD.

And there is always a panel mounted media card reader - or PCMCIA slot. All useful and not necessarily cosmetic.

Crossfire is overrated.

Hah, this isn't bad. 😉

I've been thinking about installing a lighter in one of my dummy panel plates. I have a few accessories where it would be useful to have a 12V socket.

I think it could come in handy for a few things. I might grab that and the box, and be good to go. =]

I'm just not too fond of the style of the boxes. Not sure why.
