New case suggestions?

Here's what I want:

  • Good airflow
  • Comes with a decent PSU. It really doesn't need to be much at all. It'll be the rig in my sig except an ASRock mobo + X2 3800.
  • Fairly silent. Equal or less than my current Dell Dimension 4500.
  • Hopefully $50 or less. I won't be getting a P180, just too expensive right now.

Is that $50 or less shipped or not including shipping. We just went thru this under $50. number - check that thread. Do a quick search on cheapest and you'll find it.

I'd rather buy a case with the proper airflow/cooling all set up because I really don't want to mess anything up. I mean all I know is I think there should be 2 120mm fans in the back for outtake and 1 80mm fan in the front for intake or something like that. And side fans but they're not necessary. Clearly I know nothing about it. 😛 So I'd really like to get a case with the proper airflow already set up, like the P180, but that's too expensive. -_-

check out myaopen.com. Their cases come with fortron psus. You can get a decent case with a 400w psu for $60 or a 350w for ~$50.

Yup, very few cases come with decent PSUs these days. AOpen is one InWin is another. To get the features you want plus a good CPU, it usually ends up in buying separately. Check the Rosewill thread here for some good deals on cases that are right from the beginning.

And don't forget to check the used market where you are. I just sold my previous case and PSU on CraigsList.com. Try the For Sale/Trade section here, your local Mom&Pop computer store(s), Postaroo.com, local PennySaver paper, newspaper, etc. etc. Cal. should provide more opportunity for good used than just about anywhere else. And you can sort the case list on eBay by distance from you - maybe save shipping by going to pick it up. I sold another case on eBay to a guy right in my Podunk town (pop. <2000) due to that feature.

Yeah but I don't really need a great PSU as long as it doesn't have huge problems, since I have very minimal specs (check my sig).

Thanks for the suggestion about craigslist, that is a great site.
