New Case... Moving Hardware... anything to look out for?

Just got a Lian-Li pc60. Other than needing longer IDE cable (24") and a few power supply lead extension (its a big case), it looks like a no-brainer.

However, since this is the first time I've ever moved a motherboard, what can I expect when booting up? I'm running WindowsME. Is reseating all the cards (in the same slots, of course) gonna give me any grief?

Just be prepared for something to go wrong (just in case). Don't put the door on until you've got everything up and running. You may have to switch a cable around, power button switch etc.. I recently did two "transplants" myself. the first time I moved my parts from my old Addtronics Mid tower to an Addtronics full and all went perfectly, she booted right away. Around a month later I bought a Lian Li pc12 and I managed to partially fry my mobo ( a freind of mine that's heavy into diodes fixed it.). Ground yourself, take your time and make sure theres no errant screws that can possibly short out a board or component. It's a piece of cake most of the time.

Congrats on your purchance. I got a PC60 about 2 weeks ago and love it. My transplant went perfectly, I only had to switch a few of the LED connecters around.

Guys...

thanks for your advice and encouragement. All went well! booted up to absolutely NO problems at all! Motherboard temp dropped 5 degrees(to 26), and CPU temp is down 7 degrees(to 32). and its as quiet with 7 seven fans(2 intake, 3 exhaust, cpu and video) as it was with 5(1 intake, 2 exhaust, cpu and video.)

The whole thing took about 2 1/2 hours, from shut down to boot (including watching some NBA and putting the room back to the way it was.)
