Hey, that isn't half-bad, but there's no way I'd pay 55 bones for one (best price I found)...

Would someone wake me up when they go on sale again? 😀

bwahahaha.. got mine for 39.99

i got one with a damage box, but the case was still protected. Frys knocked off another 10 dollars because the box was banged up. I of course checked the case.

Then i got a rebate coming in the mail soon. Total price 39.99 :]

The stock fans are really quiet, but don't provide much airflow. I'm going to get some 140mm yate loons and a few 120mm yates to replace the current ones. You can have 5 140mm fans in this case!!! plus 2 or 3 more 120mm ones. So far it's been a great case to work in. I love the easy cable management and roomy interior.

The CM 690 at ZipZoomFly is now at $80, no rebate - it ended yesterday, but free shipping. How fast prices change - missed it by just a few days...

No prob!

Unlike other hobbies, computer prices always go down... 😉

I've had mine for over a month now and it's a great case. For those of you saying you wouldn't pay over $50 for it, what are your other options? This will stomp on anything in it's price range and probably still come out ahead of anything twice it's price.

Here's another review from Madshrimps. From the article, "If this product carried a price-tag of $150/?150 our conclusion would have been quite straight forward, the CM 690 is a feature rich enclosure which comes with handy tool less features, three 120mm fans which keep all components cool, plus the possibility to add another 5 fans to provide for excellent thermal management, a lot of expandability options. Now that we?ve learned that the case costs actually HALF of what we expected, at ?76/$70 this case is the best there is at the price point, you?ll be hard pressed to find a mid tower ATX enclosure which packs as many features as the CM 690."

FTR I found the stock fans to be very quiet. I added 2-140mm Aerocool fans, one on the bottom and one on the top over my Tuniq Tower with the fan from the Tuniq facing up.

:sun: :sun: Hey Vin. Wake Up! I found your new toy on sale again.

and the rebate expires tomorrow (10//22/07).

Wonder if this would be better than my tt tsunami??? The side fan on the window hits my tuniq tower so it's hard to close the side.

Son of a...

I bought this case on Thursday the 17th for full price $79.95. Now today, they have them for $39.99. Dammit. Let's hope ZipZoomFly can help me out... 🙁

Patience is a virtue!

Then again, I'm still running a P4 EE chip... 😀

So, maybe patience isn't all it's cracked up to be!

EDIT

@ Miklebud, you gonna run 120s or 140s?!?!?!?

I've all ready got 4 120's + the 3 120's included. So my stuff's gonna be chilly. 🙂 Just wish it wont cost me full retail price when it's $40 cheaper now. 🙁

I suggest loading it down with hard drives so it doesn't rise up off the desk and fly away.

LoL!

The CM-690 has two intakes on the bottom.

One is for the bottom-mounted PSU intake (no more flipping the PSU upside-down) & one for the case/PSU.

So, there should be some vacuum/negative pressure going on underneath the case! 😉

Don't forget the nifty backside CPU socket/mobo tray cooler!

Thermalright recently came up with a horrible heatpipe contraption (Infernal Fire eXtinguisher) that's supposed to cool the backside CPU socket area - but it's a fiasco and a fraud on the public.

Hrm... funny nobody has mentioned the abysmal Thermalright IFX-14 on AT. No matter...

Anyway, IMHO, throwing a 80mm intake back there will work wonders - cool everything between the tray and the mobo, not just the socket area - and help to ventilate the hot air from this traditionally overlooked area...

If I had a 15mmx80mm fan, it'd be in that little spot behind the CPU. But I think I'll be all right. 😉 I'm not OC'ing THAT much.
I got confirmation from ZZF, "NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS" 🙁 Shitty... Patience is a virtue sometimes...

Just roll with it and remind yourself it was worth what you paid or you wouldn't have paid it. I bought another case because the 690 wasn't on sale when I was buying, then it went on sale again. I didn't "overpay", but I did end up with a case that's has a few more compromises. Still, I'm happy with the case I bought or I wouldn't have bought it. Besides, the 690 wouldn't have been my perfect case either. I currently don't sit my computer on the floor, so I don't like the ports being up top, and I don't like that there's no cover for them (dust collection).

Heh!

Shout-out to Gramps: Nice denial n' justification! 😀

I can't wait to get this thing, take a RotoZip to it, and a can of spray paint...

Antec Nine-Hundred Killer, it is... 😉

Congrats to the guys that just picked up this great case, especially at that great price!

BTW I ended up adding a PCI blower fan over the PSU to try and catch some of the heat it generates before it wafts up to the GPU, and now I'[m probably going to add a fan controller.

looks like Coolermaster was taking aim at the Antec 900 with this case...and I would say the Cosmos is a good competitor to the P182....except the 690 costs about 30%+ less than the 900...I personally think it looks better too.

Yep! Absolutely!

I made a SIDE-BY-SIDE visual yesterday.

It's not exactly to scale, but close enough to draw some conclusions.... 😀
