i can't find a single v6 rav4 in the whole state of missouri. so, if i want to get one this weekend, i'm out of luck. i guess i could order one.

For a decision that will cost $25k, I don't think getting it by the end of the weekend should be the deciding factor 😉

Have you look at a Mercury Mariner? Its a "sister" vehicle to the ford escape, but I think it has a nicer interior look. I'm looking for a similar car, and decided on a Mercury Mariner.

I personally don't like the rav4. Too small and the way the back door opens sideways just sucks.
Out of the 2 I would choose the saturn, besides, the interest rate is great.

The Xterra is what I would really buy!

If I were to get a new(er) vehicle today, I'd be looking at the Toyota FJ, Jeep Wrangler, Toyota MR-Spyder, and Pontiac Solstice. Kind of a motley crew 😛

saturn sky?

The Vue is HIDEOUS. I wouldn't even consider it, since it got even UGLIER this year. Yeah, it's manly, manly like a wrench that must smashed it's face in.

I think the Vue Redline looks pretty awesome myself.. but I don't really like them too too much inside (typical GM)

I think that anyone that spends that much on a car, or buys a new car is a sucker. But its your money 😛 I'd rather keep a working car, and spend more money having fun.

Decided on the Vue. It had a sticker of 25,530 and I got 3,000 on my trade. This sucker is fully loaded. Leather, power sunroof, on star, xm radio, 17inch wheels, v6, etc...

Here's a pic.

2006 Saturn Vue

=/ Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

thanks for the replies. the rav4 just seems like the trendy thing to buy and that makes me not want to buy it.

You're the type of person who would have bought a Chevy Cavalier, aren't you?

I used to have a theory that they only people who bought New Chevy Cavalier's were Beauty School college graduates. Pretty solid theory, from what I've seen

You're wanting to not buy the trendy thing yet you're limiting yourself to SUVs?

I tried to test drive the new rav4, but noone has one that wasnt sold that I can test drive. Its a very hot car, so expect to pay full msrp for it. I test drove the Ford Escape, didnt like the brake..so anyway, I ended up getting a Jeep grand cherokee v6 with the F package, upgraded tires for 26500, msrp is around 31k, there is a 2500 rebate, and they gave me $10k (the ford dealer would only give me $8500 for it, and another jeep dealer think my trade-in is only worth $6k! 😛 ) for my 2001 toyota solara that I can probably sell for around $12k on my own, but since my state has a messed up lemon law, I am glad to loss that 2k to not sell it on my own. good luck! I got the grand cherokee last monday on president's day. there are lots of deals out there for SUV, I think I might've paid too much for my grand cherokee, oh well....

Aha, but your theory is bunk! Public schools also purchased them for the driver's ed program. 😉
